Cody Rhodes Reportedly Injured During Beatdown Angle at WWE Elimination Chamber

– WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes did not come out the beatdown at hands of The Rock, John Cena, and Travis Scott last Saturday at WWE Elimination Chamber Toronto unscathed. During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, reports that Cody Rhodes suffered a busted eardrum and a black eye from the segment, where he was attacked by Cena, The Rock, and rapper Travis Scott.
While not confirmed, Bryan Alvarez speculated that the slap from Scott may have caused the injury. You can view a clip of the slap in question to the side of Rhodes’ head that was shared on social media below.
Rhodes is currently scheduled to appear on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown to address the attack. With Cena winning the men’s Elimination Chamber match last Saturday, he’s now scheduled to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 41 next month. Cena hopes to achieve a record-breaking 17th world title victory with the matchup.
WrestleMania 41 will take place over April 19-20 at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Both nights will be broadcast live on Peacock in the US and on Netflix internationally.
