Corey Graves Reportedly Intended to Play Up Brand Conflict for Survivor Series With Mauro Ranallo Tweets
– ProWrestlingSheets.com reports that sources are claiming that Corey Graves wrote his critical tweets on NXT broadcaster Mauro Ranallo to play into the brand warfare between NXT, Raw, and Smackdown for Sunday’s Survivor Series event. Additionally, the sources stated that the plan was for Corey Graves to bring up his remarks on commentary at the event in a joking manner when he would be joined by Ranallo at the announce desk at the event. Ultimately, Ranallo did not appear on the show, and Michael Cole said his voice gave out at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
As previously reported, Graves issued an apology regarding his tweets earlier today on the WWE After the Bell podcast. Graves did state during the show that he sent out his tweet “with the intention of just stirring up a little controversy, maybe have something fun to talk about on TV or here on the show.”
As noted, Ranallo is not traveling to Orlando, Florida tonight to call tonight’s edition of NXT on the USA Network.
