– The PPV feed starts with wrestling academy students working a scramble match. Veda Scott was killing it on commentary, “see, you can add spring boards and superkicks to anything.”

Kimber Lee vs. Lufisto: Lee has reportedly just signed with WWE. They worked a basic back and forth; Lufisto then fired up and hit the running corner kicks. Lee back to her feet, they traded forearm strikes but Lufisto took her down and laid in kicks to Lee. Lufisto grounded Lee, grinding her face into the mat and then choking her out in the ropes, clearly taking the heel role with commentary teasing that Lufisto may be jealous of Lee’s success. Lee finally caught Lufisto with a jawbreaker and a spin kick, trying to mount the comeback. Suplex by Lee, and she covers for the near fall; Lee worked a lotus lock, but Lufisto cut her off with a back cracker and then landed more kicks. Neck breaker by Lufisto leads to another near fall. Lufisto then chopped away at Lee, rapid-fire chops followed and then they traded Germans. They then traded chops; sitout powerbomb by Lee got a near fall, but Lufisto hits the tiger driver for 2. Spear by Lee follows as she keeps going for covers. Burning hammer by Lufisto, but Lee survives. Lufisto is pissed. Lee escapes another, but Lufisto works a Muta lock but Lee gets the ropes. Lee hits a bridging German for 2, works forearm strikes, sets Lufisto up top and Lufisto fights her off, into the tree of WHOA and Lufisto hits the double stomp, BURNING HAMMER again and Lee is done. Lufisto defeated Kimber Lee @ 12:45 via pin [***] That was a good, back and forth opener, with Lufisto framed as the disgruntled veteran as the crowd chants “Thank you Kimber.”

Chris Hero vs. John Silver: “A fan” attacks Chris Hero, identified as Dave Cole. Silver tried for a German suplex, failed and Hero was not impressed. Silver then pats Hero on the head, Hero went for shoulder blocks but they didn’t work. Chops by Silver and then hit the shoulder block and took Hero down. Silver worked a series of kicks, but Hero kicked his face off and hit the standing senton for 2. Bully time for Hero, just beating down Silver in the corner and connected with forearm strikes. Suplex by Hero, but Silver counters the senton with knees. Elbows follow and then more kicks. Clothesline by Silver, he tosses Hero across the ring and follows with a suplex. To the floor they go, back in and Hero lays in the boots, elbows by Hero and the suplex follows. Chops by Silver, Hero drops him with a jab and follows with a kick to the face. Silver tries to fire up, trips Hero and scores with the bridging German for 2. Forearm strikes by Silver, but hero plants him with the tombstone for a near fall. Silver escapes the stuff piledriver, hero lights him up with strikes and is getting annoyed by Silver, they trade clotheslines and Silver finally drops Hero. Hero rakes the eyes, elbow and pump kicks follow but Silver counters the piledriver into a cradle to pick up the win. (Bully Hero got too overconfident). John Silver defeated Chris Hero @ 12:40 via pin [***½] This was a very good, hard hitting, back and forth match, which did a lot for Silver who took Hero’s best and not only survived, but won. Very interesting, Hero has been jobbing a lot and looks to have nothing booked for 2017, which is odd. There is speculation that he may be WWE bound.

Spirit Squad (Kenny & Mikey) vs. EYFBO (Mike Draztik & Angel Ortiz): The Squad (from the university of parts unknown) does a little cheer to heel it up pre-match. They then attacked; EYFBO quickly fought back, working over Mikey and hitting double teams on Mikey. The suplex/high cross combo connected for 2. Mikey got sent to the floor, we got the floor brawl. Back in and Kenny took control, working the heat on Draztik. Solid heat by the Squad here, taking the ref and double-teaming Draztik in their corner. It’s nothing special, just good heel tag team tactics. Kenny kept cutting off Draztik, the Squad looked for a stacked splash of the ropes but Draztik rolled out of the way. Hot tag to Ortiz, he ran wild and laid the boots to Mikey and hit a falling head butt for 2. Atomic drop to Kenny, double-teams to Mikey now and Draztik hits the corner cannonball. Kenny pulls the ref out to stop the pin, Draztik and Kenny brawl on the floor and the crowd is into this now. Kenny saves Mikey from a doomsday device, and Mikey hits a RANA into a cradle for the win. Spirit Squad (Kenny & Mikey) defeated EYFBO (Mike Draztik & Angel Ortiz) @ 9:30 via pin [**½] This was a rock solid match, nothing wrong with it other than the fact that it never got out of first gear.

– Da Hit Squad attacks EYFBO post match.

Sean Maluta vs. Jaka: These guys are former tag team partners. Maluta hits a dropkick and scores an immediate near fall. Jaka quickly fought back, working rights and elbow drops. Maluta then sends Jaka to the floor, cannonball off the apron and then back in, Maluta covers for 2. Spinning neck breaker by Maluta connects and he covers for 2. Maluta follows with the basement dropkick. They both fired up, picked up the pacing as they worked a hard hitting back and forth. Jaka then attacked with strikes and kicks. Chops by Maluta in the corner, the running boot follows but Jaka catches him and hits an overhead suplex into the corner. Maluta counters the tree slam into a RANA for a near fall. Jaka’s mouth is busted up; Maluta lays in a series of kicks to the chest. Jaka counters the frog splash with knees and gets a roll up for two. They trade strikes center ring, head butt by Maluta cuts off Jaka, but Jaka fires back with a spin kick and hits the chokebomb into a pinning combo, and Jaka wins. Jaka defeated Sean Maluta @ 9:25 via pin [***] Good match overall, with commentary doing a good job of filling in the blanks regarding the history of these guys.

– Jaka, Maluta and Dickinson embraced post match; Chuck O’Neil arrived and ran down Dickinson. O’Neil pulls out of the match (he had a doctor’s note) and announced Jeff Cobb as his replacement.

Chris Dickinson vs. Jeff Cobb: Cobb (better known to most as Matanza in Lucha Underground) looked to out wrestle Dickinson early, Dickinson is more of a “Bruiserweight” style guy, looking to break Cobb down. Cobb survived that, and started to toss Dickinson around, but Dickinson then hit a dead lift German and corner clotheslines. Mounted rights by Dickinson ten followed, Cobb escapes and slams him to the buckles. Dickinson escaped a German, followed with a spin kick, Dickinson worked chops but Cobb rag dolls him around the ring with ease. Cobb sets Dickinson up top, but he countered the dead lift superplex. BURNING HAMMER from Dickinson and that gets the win. Chris Dickinson defeated Jeff Cobb @ 8:50 via pin [***] This was good overall, playing well to both guy’s strengths and not gong too long. It was exactly what it needed to be.

– O’Neil and Dickinson brawl post match, Riddle and Jaka join the Fray; Jaka and Dickinson hit a doomsday chokeslam on O’Neil. Barry and Riddle brawled.

Dan Barry vs. Matthew Riddle: The match started as they were brawling, Barry did well when they brawled but when it went into regular match mode, Riddle out wrestled him and worked knee strikes and hammer fists. Barry slowly made his comeback, made the mistake of trading strikes with Riddle, Riddle fired up with kicks and a flying forearm; air raid crash by Barry scored a near fall. Barry hit the rolling elbow, so Riddle beat the hell out of him and hit the bro to sleep and fisherman’s buster for 2. Am bar by Riddle and Barry has to tap. Matthew Riddle defeated Dan Barry @ 10:00 via pin [**½] This wasn’t bad, but Barry wasn’t the right guy to pair with Riddle; nothing he does seemed to mix with Riddle at all. In Barry’s defense, Riddle also has to adapt to different styles. This was probably the least enjoyable Riddle match have seen so far.

Jordynne Grace & Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taeler Hendrix & Alexxis: Hendrix and Purrazzo to begin, with Purrazzo out wrestling Hendrix. Alexxis tagged in, took control, working over Purrazzo with strikes. Purrazzo countered, attacked the arm and worked for the submission. Hendrix back in, she and Alexxi then took the heat on Purrazzo. Hendrix pulled Grace to the floor, stopping her from the potential tag. Grace back up, finally gets the tag and runs wild, scoring a near fall on Hendrix. It broke down, Purrazzo escapes the tombstone, locked in the arm bar but the ref got distracted. Hendrix and Alexxis hit a double team pedigree deal for the win. Taeler Hendrix & Alexxis defeated Jordynne Grace & Deonna Purrazzo @ 8:20 via pin [**] This was locked into first gear, never got out of it and lacked heat throughout.

Ricochet vs. Jonathan Gresham: Hyped for this. Gresham is a guy that delivers everywhere he works, and Ricochet is s one of a kind performer in terms of speed and creativity. Gresham engages grapplefuck early on, grounding the king of flight. Gresham then slowly started to try and destroy the arm of Ricochet. They traded strikes; Gresham didn’t have any time for Ricochet’s bullshit, again taking him to the mat. Ricochet made the comeback, hitting the people’s moonsault. After trading strikes, Gresham turned Ricochet inside out with a lariat. Springboard clothesline by Ricochet, Gresham then cut off the comeback, attacking the am again. Gresham is so focused and methodical when he gets to the arm work and it’s great. Gresham then hits a chin breaker, enziguri and then folds him in half with a bridging German. Ricochet counters with the cutter, standing shooting star press and then the Regal-plex. Gresham attacked the arm again, looking for the octopus stretch; Ricochet hits the northern lights and transitions into the dead lift suplex. Gresham avoids the shooting star press, gets a cradle and the snap German suplex. Gresham counters the Benadryller into the grounded octopus hold and Ricochet taps.Jonathan Gresham defeated Ricochet @ 15:30 via submission [****] This was excellent, with both guys working well together and Gresham not only winning clean but dominating; that’s how to put over a guy. They didn’t’ t go too long, went home at the right time and this was the best thing on the show so far.

– David Starr arrives, praises Gresham and announces he’s facing AR Fox.

AR Fox vs. David Starr: This is for Starr’s wXw shotgun title. Fox attacked before the bell, sent Starr to the floor and hit the big dive. Starr then hit a wacky dive, eating mostly floor. In the ring, they went back and forth with Starr countering Lo Mein pain with a German suplex off the ropes. They went back and forth, worked constant counters, springboard cutter by Fox. 450 by Fox connects for the near fall. Starr countered the straightjacket suplex, bicycle kick by Fox, Starr attacks the knee of Fox, who quickly no sells it and Starr hits product placement for the win. David Starr defeated AR Fox @ 9:45 via pin [**] Like the vast majority it of Fox matches, there’s a lot of style and little substance to link it all together. This didn’t do much for me, it just existed. It was a last minute change and that may be a lot of it.

– Joey Janella, fresh from the hospital, arrives and attacks Starr.

Brian Fury vs. Donovan Dijak: This is Brian Fury’s retirement match, he was Dijak’s trainer. They worked basic back and forth, with the trainer out wrestling the bigger man, showing that the teacher still knows more. Dijak fired back with knee strikes and then tossed Fury to the floor. After a brawl on the floor, Dijak took the heat and started to toss Fury around, with ease. Fury kept fighting back, but Dijak constantly cut him off. He exposed s buckle and went back to tossing Fury around. After some reversals, Dijak hit a sidekick but Fury sent him to the floor. Dijak right back in, boot by Fury and then laid in strikes to Dijak. Fury then folded Dijak in half with the belly to back suplex. Dijak to the floor, big dive by Fury but Dijak chokeslams him onto the apron. Dijak then missed a moonsault in the ring, pop up powerbomb by Fury gets the near fall. Fury sets Dijak up top, superplex try stopped by Dijak. Dijak looks for the sunset flip bomb, countered and Fury sends Dijak to the exposed buckle and hits another pop up powerbomb for the near fall. Fury looks for the Boston crab, Dijak counters with a choke and Fury counters the choke breaker into the crab. Fury pulls him center, Dijak escapes and Fury gets sent to the exposed buckle, feast your eyes by Dijak, but Fury kicks out. The crowd loves this. Dijak promises to finish Fury and calls him a failure before slapping him. Fury fires up and eats a kick and forearm. Back fist ad superkicks by Fury, and he looks feast your eyes. Dijak counters and hits feat your eyes, but Fury kicks out again! Dijak hits feast your eye again but Fury somehow survives. Fury challenges Dijak to hit fast your eyes again, but he counters into the crab and Dijak has to tap. Brian Fury defeated Donovan Dijak @ 18:00 via submission [****] This was an excellent main event, with the veteran making one last stand and outlasting the over confident protégé; this was a fitting send off for Fury, who meant so much to Beyond and the New England wrestling scene.

– Fury gave some thank yous following the match.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.
