Details on If Ricky Starks Will Get A Name Change In WWE NXT

As previously reported, Ricky Starks made his WWE debut on Tuesday night’s episode of NXT, cutting a promo for the live crowd. WWE did not refer to him by name, but the crowd chanted his name anyway. Fightful Select reports that Starks is expected to keep his current ring name now that he’s part of the brand. Internally, he is listed as “Ricky Starks.”

As noted, the deal came together quickly, but Starks is officially signed to WWE. A WWE source confirmed that the company has “on sync” agreements which lets them use names and other trademarks while someone is signed to the company. Starks’ deal came together so quickly that WWE was said to be cautious when working on it.
