Disney’s Official Trailer for Live-Action Moana Fully Unveils The Rock’s Return as Maui

Disney Studios revealed the official trailer for the upcoming live-action remake of Moana, which fully unveils Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui. You can check out the newly revealed trailer, plus a new behind-the-scenes featurette about the remake’s artistry, below.

The new the new trailer the upcoming remake features new footage of Johnson as Maui. Johnson previously voiced the character in the original 2016 movie and its 2024 sequel.

The new version of the Disney classic is produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s also executive produced by Kail, Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth, and Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the animated films. The remake features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, plus an original score composed by Mancina.

Disney’s Moana arrives exclusively in theaters July 10, 2026.
