WWE NXT has a new North American Champion. Jackson Drake, with a well-timed assist from Myka Lockwood, scored a huge upset win at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026. He beat Myles Borne to capture the title, the first of his career.

Lockwood proved to be the ultimate equalizer during the matchup. Later during the match, Lockwood hit Borne with a low blow and a Powerbomb. Jackson Drake then rolled Borne into the ring, hitting his opponent with the 450 Splash to get the pinfall and title.

Heights sought to console Borne after the match. Earlier in the night, they lost the NXT Tag Team Titles to the Vanity Project. However, Borne turned on Heights, hitting him with the Sling Blade. It looks like Borne officially turned heel, and he walked past Vanity Project to the backstage area.

Borne’s title run ends after 187 days. He won the belt earlier in February. It appears he blames Heights for the loss of their NXT Tag Team Titles earlier in the premium live event. Now, Borne has gone from having two belts to none. Meanwhile, Vanity Project now possesses the NXT Tag Team and North American Titles.
