Janel Brunson Helps Roman Reigns Thwart Seth Rollins’ Attack at Saturday Night’s Main Event: NYC

Seth Rollins’ attempt to gatecrash the segment featuring Roman Reigns and NBA 2026 Champion Janel Brunson didn’t exactly go as planned at tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event: NYC.

Tonight’s event was headlined by a special segment featuring Roman Reigns and New York Knicks’ Janel Brunson. The two came out to a massive pop from the crowd at MSG.

Roman talked about the New York Knicks’ drought-breaking NBA championship triumph earlier this year. He listed Brunson’s accomplishments and nicknames and proceeded to present Brunson with a custom-made World Heavyweight Championship belt. However, just as the crowd was acknowledging them, Seth Rollins’ music hit. However, instead of Rollins, out came Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton weilding a steel chair.

It proved to be a ruse, as Seth entered the ring from behind and jumped Roman. Haliburton handed over the chair to Rollins, who attempted to Stomp Reigns on it. However, Brunson took exception to it, confronting Seth, paving the way for the World Heavyweight Champion to mount a comeback. Reigns Superman Punched Rollins and followed it up with a Spear. As Seth and Haliburton retreated, someone slipped an NBA Championship trophy into the ring. Roman officially crowned Brunson with the custom-made championship, and the two posed with the belts and the NBA trophy to close out the show.

Seth will challenge Roman for the World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam next month.
