Kenny Omega Reacts to His AEW World Championship Triumph at Dynamite: Beach Break

Kenny Omega reacts to his monumental victory against Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) at Dynamite: Beach Break.

AEW presented the Beach Break edition of Dynamite from Florida last night. The main event of the show saw Kenny Omega challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship. According to the pre-match stipulation, if Omega had failed the match, he would have lost the opportunity to challenge for the company’s top prize in the future.

As it turned out, that didn’t happen, as Kenny hit MJF with three V-Triggers and followed it up with the One-Winged Angel to secure the pinfall and the AEW World Title.

Omega is now a two-time AEW World Champion. This is his first world title victory since December 2020. His previous reign lasted 346 days. After reclaiming his spot at the top of the food chain, The Cleaner took to social media to comment on his monumental victory. He wrote:

“After 1,698 days of waiting to get it back, we finished the race. Thank you for never giving up on me and always believing one more time.”

In a separate post, Kenny Omega reacted to his meme picture linked to a quote in which he jokingly claimed during an AEW talent meeting that he wouldn’t have hired 80 percent of the talent in the room. The picture was shared by MJF on July 7. Kenny quoted MJF’s post with the same photo.

Thanks to his victory over MJF, Omega is now headed to the iconic Wembley Stadium, where he will defend the AEW World Title against Will Ospreay at All In on August 30.
