Kevin Knight Says He’d Love To Appear In NJPW At Some Point

Kevin Knight says a little more time may need to pass, but he would love to go back to NJPW for an appearance. Knight came up in the NJPW system as a Young Lion before eventually making his way to AEW, where he has become a star. The Don Callis Family member has spoken in the past about how New Japan “overprepared” him for AEW.

During an appearance on TMZ Inside the Ropes, Knight was asked about potentially appearing in NJPW the way Kenny Omega has recently. He said he’d love to as long as the timing is right. You can see highlights below:

On Potentially Appearing In NJPW:

“Yeah. You know, me personally, I would love to. I would love to get that chance. If we can make that happen, yes. If the timing is right, yes. Obviously, Kenny Omega had a much longer tenure in New Japan than I did. You know, he reached the mountain top before he came over to AEW. So, the New Japan fans are already gravitated to him, you know what I mean? So, I feel like it would be a different situation for me to go back.”

On Wanting NJPW Fans To See How He’s Grown:

“But I would love to go back in New Japan and show the audience just how much I’ve grown in my character and my stature, in my work. Because New Japan has seen me from the very beginning when I was a Young Lion. And for them to see me now — I feel like maybe a little more time needs to pass, but I would ultimately love to come back to New Japan and show them just this new side.”
