Lash Legend says nothing could have prepared her for her first WWE tryout. Even after years of playing basketball, she walked away from day one feeling like she needed an ice bath.

Coming from a basketball background, Legend was used to intense training and staying in shape year-round. But she said wrestling challenged her body in ways she had never experienced before.

Lash Legend shared the story while speaking with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, reflecting on the moment she first stepped into a WWE ring. She admitted the whole transition from basketball came together pretty abruptly.

“It was a blissful transition. Like, I think it was very abrupt as well. I really enjoyed the process of it because I, again, I completely didn’t know exactly what to expect because once I got to my tryout, I was like, ‘oh my gosh, this is nothing I’ve ever done before.’ I played a million other sports, but wrestling, like getting in that ring, it’s just nothing that you can prepare for until you actually are in it. So I just remember waking up and the first day of my tryout, after the first day, I was so sore.”

Legend recalled being so sore that all she could think about was finding an ice bath before returning the next morning. However, she said she’s always played with an aggressive edge and carried that mentality into wrestling. She believes that approach helped her push through the demanding tryout and adjust to life inside the ring.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to get an ice bath.’ Like you would think I wouldn’t train year-round, but I do, but it was just something totally new. It was very exciting. I was just a machine. I was like, ‘Oh, no, I’m going to get hired here,’ and it happened. So I think what helped me was just having that tenacious attitude on the court, just being really eager to learn, and I feel like all of the things that I learned in my background has helped me over, and I was a bully on the court as well, so now I’m a bully in the ring.”

At SummerSlam, Lash Legend will have the opportunity to compete in the Five-way Ladder Match for the Interim Women’s Championship if she can defeat Giulia and qualify on next Friday Night SmackDown.
