Mickie James Congratulates Chelsea Green On WWE SmackDown Promo: ‘How It Should Be Done’

Mickie James had high praise for Chelsea Green, posting to social media to praise her promo on Friday night’s episode of WWE Smackdown. As noted, Friday night’s show opened with Nick Aldis saying that Green had to relinquish the WWE Women’s Championship due to her broken orbital bone. Green cut an impassioned promo saying that she wouldn’t give up the title until someone took it from her, and Aldis changed his decision to allow Green 30 days to get cleared so she can defend the championship.

James posted to Twitter on Sunday morning to share her thoughts on the segment. She praised Green for her work, calling it one of the greatest promos she’s seen. James wrote:

“Congratulations to @ImChelseaGreen for delivering not just one of her greatest promos…. But legitimately one of THE GREATEST PROMOS I’ve ever watched. I felt every moment. She felt every word. That is how it should be done. You are a star my love. Everyone should take notes.”

WWE is said to be “optimistic” about Green’s injury timeline, though there’s no word as of yet on when she may be cleared. Green won the title in a five-way ladder match at WWE SummerSlam night two.

Congratulations to @ImChelseaGreen for delivering not just one of her greatest promos…. But legitimately one of THE GREATEST PROMOS I’ve ever watched. I felt every moment. She felt every word. That is how it should be done. You are a star my love. Everyone should take notes.…
