MVP Announces That Bobby Lashley Is Injured, Shelton Benjamin To Compete in Diamond Battle Royale

During tonight’s AEW Collision: Winter Is Coming, The Hurt Syndicate’s MVP announced that former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is currently injured and out of action.

MVP didn’t announce any additional details regarding the nature of Lashley’s injury, how it was sustained, or how long Lashley will be sidelined. However, it was declared that Hurt Syndicate member Shelton Benjamin will be competing in the AEW Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale set for next week. Other competitors announced for the Diamond Battle Royale include Mark Davis, Brody King, Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and Ricochet.

Lashley last competed at AEW Full Gear 2025. He wrestled in the Casino Gauntlet Match to crown the inaugural AEW National Champion. Ricochet won the bout to become the first National Champion.

The AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash is set for Wednesday, December 17. The event will air later on TBS at 8:00 pm ET. It will also be simulcast on HBO Max. Here’s the updated lineup:
