Nick Khan is discussing a WWE event taking place in Tokyo, Japan next year, according to TKO head Mark Shapiro. Shapiro revealed during the Q3 earnings media call on Wednesday that there were discussions taking place about the company heading over to the Japanese capital sometime in 2027.
Fightful reports that Shapiro was discussing both the UFC and WWE heading overseas and looking for new locations, saying that they were having positive communications with Abu Dhabi about UFC holding more shows there.
He continued, “I’m also pretty bullish about some conversations that Nick Khan is having about bringing WWE to Tokyo next year.”
WWE has held live events in Japan, and their programming began streaming on Netflix there in October. It was previously shown on Japanese streaming service ABEMA.
No word on when a new WWE event may take place in Japan.
