NJPW Announces G1 Climax Show In US For July, Death Vegas Invitacional In April

NJPW has announced a couple of United States-based shows for the coming year, including a G1 Climax 36 show in July. The promotion announced at Sunday morning’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 that the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois will host a G1 Climax 36 event on July 11th. In addition, the NJPW Death Vegas Invitacional will take place on April 16th in (obviously) Las Vegas, Nevada.

The G1 Climax event will make only the second time the prestigious and long-running tournament will host a show outside of Japan. The promotion held the opening night of the G1 Climax 29 in Dallas, Texas in July of 2019.

More details on the G1 Climax will be revealed in the coming months. The winner of the tournament traditionally gets an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match. Konosuke Takeshita won the G1 Climax 35 and defeated Zack Sabre Jr. for the title in October.

Meanwhile, the Death Vegas Invitacional will be taking place during WrestleMania 42 week. The promotion also announced the following dates:

* March 6th: NJPW 54th Anniversary Show
* April 4th: Sakura Genesis
* April 25th: Wrestling Redzone in Hiroshima
* May 3rd: Wrestling Dontaku
* June 7th: Best of the Super Juniors 33 Final
* June 14th: Dominion
