John Cena is set to bid adieu to in-ring duties at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. The Never Seen 17 will wrestle his final match against two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in Washington, D.C., tomorrow night.
While his in-ring career might be coming to an end, Cena is set to remain with WWE for the next five years at least in a different capacity. In a recent conversation with Tom Rinaldi on WWE’s YouTube channel, Cena revealed that he has signed a new contract with the company. He will serve as the promotion’s ambassador.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that Cena’s new deal with WWE would run through the end of 2030.
John Cena has always been vocal about contributing to the company even after his in-ring career comes to a close. It will be interesting to see how WWE uses his services moving forward.
