Shane Douglas Recalls Wrestling Terry Funk to a 45-Minute Draw

– During a recent edition of his Franchise University podcast, Shane Douglas discussed the career of Terry Funk and the time they wrestled to a 45-minute time limit draw in ECW in 1994. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

Shane Douglas on Terry Funk: “He was incredible, honestly. I’d never done a [time limit draw] that long before and Terry walked into the building that day and he was hobbled, he looked like he could barely stand up.” Douglas was concerned about both his and Funk’s physical condition but swallowed his fear and had the match. “I was fighting for my life.”

On how he couldn’t match up with what Funk did at his age: “I’m about 50% of what I used to be able to do.”
