Tiffany Stratton is a big fan of WWE Unreal and believes that it’s ultimately a good thing for professional wrestling. The Netflix docuseries, which premiered its third season this week, has taken some criticism from certain wrestling veterans for how it pulls back the curtain on WWE’s backstage happenings.

Stratton said in an interview with Good Karma Wrestling that she feels the show is helpful for the business because it provides another avenue for the industry to get new fans out of reality TV watches. She also spoke about returning to her hometown of Minneapolis for WWE SummerSlam; you can see the highlights below:

On WWE Unreal:

“No, I love it. I love Unreal. I feel like it gives the chance for fans to see a different side of wrestling that they’ve never seen before. And I feel like a lot of those people are saying those [critical] things, but they’re also watching it at the same time, you know? They’re also tuning in.

“I’m a big fan of reality TV. Obviously, I’m a young 27-year-old girl so I love reality TV. And I do think this is a very good thing for WWE, because I think kind of having it be on Netflix and having people that aren’t wrestling fans see that, I think it’s good advertising for wrestling. You know, you click on that, you get to see the behind the scenes. You don’t really get told like, ‘This is super fake,’ or ‘This isn’t real.’ It’s kind of like, it’s very real, what’s going on. So I think that’s very interesting for people that aren’t wrestling fans to kind of see that side of things, and then hopefully become a fan from watching that.”

On Being Home For WWE SummerSlam:

“This is like my first, I feel, big moment in Minnesota. I had a Smackdown earlier or last year, late last year. I think it was something for qualifying for the US Championship actually. And I lost, but what a full circle moment. I now have the US Championship, I’m going into SummerSlam in Minnesota as the US Champion.

“So, I’m super excited. I feel like this adds a little bit of pressure, but it’s also going to be a little bit more fun for me. You know, my family’s going to be there. I’m going to have family that have never seen me wrestle before there. So, I’m super excited.”
