TNA has made some temporary progress on their number of expiring contracts soon, setting a number of short-term deals per a new report. As has been reports, the promotion has a number of contracts up by the end of the year. Among them are Jody Threat (which expired on December 1st), Steve Maclin, The Rascalz, AJ Francis, Jake Something, and Mustafa Ali. In addition, The IInspiration and Cedric Alexander had their deals expire after Bound For Glory.
Now, Fightful Select reports that the company has “effectively finalized” several short-term deals. Many of the deals are around three months long. It’s not yet confirmed exactly which talent have signed the deals.
TNA prefers the short term deals, as do a number of talent. Several talent have told Fightful the short deals keeps their options open, while TNA sources noted that it provides financial flexibility and lets them bring in talent who don’t want long-term deals.
The company has held off on a number of its contract extensions until the AMC/TNA deal was completed. That is now, obviously, the case The promotion debuts on AMC with TNA Impact on January 17th.
