Tony Khan says he loves seeing Steven Borden’s work in AEW and believes that he will be a “tremendous” wrestler. Borden, the son of Sting, has been working AEW dark matches for a while now. He began training under Darby Allin following his appearance at AEW Revolution for his father’s retirement match in 2024.
Khan was a guest on Power Players with Brian Sozzi and was asked about Steven Borden working for them. He spoke a bit about Borden’s training and work in dark matches, and reflected on Sting’s retirement run. You can check out the highlights below:
On Steven Borden:
“Yeah, we’re training Sting’s son Steven right now. He wrestles before all the shows in what we call the dark match. And I think he’s going to be a tremendous wrestler. I’m really, really proud of the work he’s doing.”
On Sting:
“Right before we started the interview, we were talking about the fact that Sting retired in AEW. He’s one of my all-time favorite wrestlers. And the work Sting did in AEW, I still think is some of our greatest stuff.”
