Triple H Reveals His Favorite Royal Rumble Moment

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H named his favorite Royal Rumble moment while promoting the upcoming premium live event on ESPN’s First Take.

The Game mentioned Shawn Michaels hanging by his legs and pulling himself back in after being tossed over the top rope by The British Bulldog and ultimately eliminating Bulldog to win the 1995 edition of the match as his favorite moment from past Royal Rumble matches.

“For everybody, it’s one of the classic moments; it’s Shawn Michaels in 1995 hanging over the top rope, with one arm balancing himself and his feet not touching the ground, and Davey Boy thinking he won. It was the first time we had seen someone be that close to an elimination where they’re just hanging by the skin of their teeth, and the drama—you can just feel that craziness and emotion—and Shawn was able to, what we call, ‘skin the cat’ back into the ring, win the Royal Rumble, and go on to become champion at WrestleMania,” Triple H said.

Shawn Michaels scripted history that year, as he became the first person to win the Royal Rumble match after entering at the first position. However, he failed to beat Diesel for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 11.
