As previously reported, WWE NXT is switching things up this year, with the announcement of NXT TLC as this year’s December premium live event instead of NXT Deadline. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has an update regarding the Iron Survivor Challenge match that typically took place at Deadline, and whether the match type could eventually make its way to the main WWE roster.
According to the report, a source within WWE indicated that the Iron Survivor Challenge match has been discussed in the past as a match type that could be used on the main roster. However, the source was unable to confirm if its absence from NXT this year means that possibility is more likely.
Another source indicated to WrestleVotes that the match type could fit into a few of WWE’s current storylines, including the WWE Undisputed Championship scene, with the title currently held by Sami Zayn. WWE has yet to announce plans for the match type this year, in NXT or on the main roster.
