Update on Time Period for WWE’s Upcoming Women’s Tournament

– The Wrestling Observer (via SquaredCircleSirens.com) has an update on WWE’s planned women’s tournament for the WWE Network. According to the latest report, the tournament is being planned for the middle of May, and women talent are being contacted for dates in that time period. The planned tournament is going to be similar to the WWE cruiserweight tournament.
Additionally, WWE has been making plans for the tournament since around August 2016, but there is still not a final date yet. Some recent female WWE talent hires include Heidi Lovelace, Kimber Lee, Andrea, and Mary Dobson. In April, female talent set to report to the WWE Performance Center will include Kairi Hojo, Isabel Lahela, Evie, Nixon Newell, and Demi Bennett. Rumored talents coming to WWE include such names as Zeuixs, Shazza McKenzie, Scarlett Bordeaux, Deonna Purrazzo, Toni Storm, and Io Shirai. The tournament could potentially be a to way to introduce these talents in WWE.
