Wheeler Yuta has found himself under the guidance of some of AEW’s top names including Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, and he recently spoke about what he’s learned from them. Yuta was part of the Blackpool Combat Club with Danielson and Moxley. He stayed with the group when they turned on Danielson and became the Death Riders in September 2024.

Yuta was asked in his appearance on Casual Conversations With the Clasaic about what he learned from his two AEW stablemates. You can see highlights below:

On Learning From Danielson:

“There’s so many things that he taught me. It’s really tough to like, narrow down one. But there are all these little technique things that he used to show me. And just kind of -— I think that him and the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club really kind of taught me how to be a professional.

“I was a young guy coming up, he talked to me about things that no one even thinks about. Like saving my money, and how to present myself as a professional and be a good representative of the company, and things like that. Talked to me about all sorts of things.”

On Improving His In-Ring Game Under Danielson:

“Obviously, all the techniques in the ring. Like the Busaiku Knee, which I use now. The Cattle Mutilation, which I use now. Even just like little things, there’s a point where we were cleaning up my quarter nelson and stuff like that. So there’s so many things that I could say about him, and yeah, he was really a positive influence on my career.”

On What He Learned From Moxley:

“I think Moxley, the thing that I learned from him more is just like doing what needs to be done, I guess. He always talks about how he wants to elevate the standard in AEW, and he says that it always starts with us. So we have to be the ones showing that we go out and we work hard, and we try to bring everyone else around us up to our level.

“And I think that’s been working. Like, we lost in Blood & Guts because we’ve brought some stuff out of Kyle O’Reilly that we hadn’t seen before. So things like that, and what we brought out of Darby Allen and the lengths that he was willing to go in that I Quit match. And I think that that’s really what we focused on, was just trying to be a team, trying to be a unit and bring each other up.”
