MJF Suffers Knee Injury During AEW World Title Match Against RUSH on Dynamite

AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is seemingly injured. On the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF defended his recently won title against RUSH in a No Countout match.
The back-and-forth encounter ultimately ended in Friedman’s favor as he made RUSH submit. However, it seems MJF didn’t go unscathed despite walking home with the AEW World Championship.
Earlier today, Beyond Wrestling reported on X that MJF hyperextended his knee during the match and is currently not medically cleared to travel to compete. Friedman was initially scheduled to battle Bobby Orlando at Beyond Wrestling’s Break The Walls Down event this Friday.
“Unfortunately, @The_MJF hyperextended his knee during his match last night & is not medically cleared to travel or compete. He will not be in Cranston tomorrow night, but assured me he will wrestle for Beyond Wrestling as soon as his schedule allows. We wish him a speedy recovery,” Beyond Wrestling wrote.
