Willow Nightingale Says Owen Hart Cup Win Was a ‘Full Circle Moment’
Willow Nightingale became the second winner of the Owen Hart Cup women’s tournament, and she recently looked back at the victory. Nightingale won the tournament last year and she spoke with Chats and Graps about what the victory meant for her.
“Winning The Owen was also a really cool full circle moment,” Nightingale said (per Wrestling Inc). “Because the very first match I had on AEW television — because I had done Dark a bunch, but the very first television match I had was against Red Velvet in an Owen Hart Cup qualifying match on Rampage the year before. So that was really my first exposure to the AEW crowd who’s only tuned in on TV for me.”
She continued, “To then be in the next tournament and win it all, it was like, ‘Something’s working.'”
Nightingale defeated Ruby Soho in the finals of the tournament on the July 15th, 2023 episode of AEW Collision. Ricky Starks won the men’s tournament last year, beating CM Punk in the finals.
