World Heavyweight Championship Match Set For WWE Elimination Chamber

CM Punk will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at WWE Elimination Chamber, as confirmed on this week’s episode of Raw. It was made official on Monday’s show that Balor will get a remain against Punk for the World Title at this month’s PLE.
The match was set up during a segment where Michael Cole was set to interview CM Punk in the ring. Balor crashed the interview before Punk could come out, grabbing the microphone and talking about how he laid out Punk and won’t step aside so Roman Reigns can take advantage of what he did. He said he was tired of being an afterthought or being pushed around, and wanted a shot at Punk at the PLE.
Adam Pearce told Balor to leave the ring so Cole could do his interview, but Punk came out and told Balor to stay. Punk said that Balor is his first thought and not an afterthought, and wanted to beat him down. Balor challenged Punk to put the title on the line and Punk was willing to do it now or at Elimination Chamber.
Pearce was hesitant to put the main event of WrestleMania in jeopardy, but relented when Punk said he’d spend the rest of the show chasing Balor around and beating him if the match wasn’t made.
WWE Elimination Chamber is set to take place on February 28th in United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The show will air live on the ESPN Unlimited domestically and Netflix worldwide.
We’ll have a fully updated card after tonight’s Raw.
