WWE plans on continuing its relationship with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, per a new report from Fightful Select, despite the cancelation of the WWE SummerSlam Late Night show scheduled for earlier this year. Hinchcliffe previously hosted the controversial Roast of WrestleMania in April.
As previously reported, WWE had a WWE Late Night show hosted by Hinchcliffe during SummerSlam weekend on August 2. However, the event was announced as canceled about a week before it was set to take place in July.
According to Fightful’s report, WWE sources are claiming that the relationship between both sides is still fine despite the Late Night show cancelation. Hinchcliffe making multiple appearances tied to WWE recently is why the topic resurfaced.
Additionally, sources within WWE state that the promotion expects to work with Tony Hinchcliffe again at some point. However, the specifics of how that might turn out is unknown. Fightful notes that it was implied that it would likely be another similar late night type of comedy-themed program.
