Bobby Horne, the man known as Sir Mo during his time in the WWE, has passed away at the age of 58. WWE Hall of Famer Leilani Kai reported this news on Facebook late last night. Horne had been suffering from a blood infection & pneumonia recently, and had multiple health problems in the last several years including kidney & liver transplants, along with suffering from COVID in 2022.
Horne spent most of his career as Mo teaming alongside Nelson “Mabel” Frazier. They broke into the Southern independent scene as the Harlem Knights in 1991, and got noticed by the WWF while working for the USWA in 1993. They would assume the name Men on a Mission upon arriving in the WWF, along with acquiring a manager named Oscar that would rap as they entered the arena. Mo & Mabel won the WWF Tag Team Championship from The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau & Pierre Oulette) on March 29, 1994 in London, England, but lost the title back two nights later in Sheffield.
Mabel got more of the spotlight and would win the King of the Ring tournament in 1995 after he & Mo turned on Oscar and the fans. Mo was content to be by his friend’s side during his big push, accepting the noble title of Sir Mo and interjecting himself into Mabel’s matches when necessary. While Mabel would go on to a lengthy career in WWE after becoming Viscera, Mo would return to the independent scene and help young wrestlers that were hoping to attain stardom.
We at 411 send our condolences to Sir Mo’s family, friends and fans.
