Fightful Select has an update on the status of AEW wrestler and former TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. Mone has not appeared on AEW programming since losing the title back to Willow Nightingale at the New Year’s Smash edition of AEW Dynamite on December 31, 2025.

Mone has yet to wrestle in AEW this year. She returned to the ring earlier in March, wrestling in multiple events and losing a lot of the titles she had previously gained.

According to Fightful’s report, despite her recent absence, Mone remains under an AEW contract, and she’s planned for an eventual return to the promotion. Also, while specifics were not made available, it’s said that Mone’s involvement will have major ramifications for the top of the AEW card.

Additionally, her return is expected to happen “relatively soon.” However, there’s no word on whether she’s been spotted in Richmond, Virginia ahead of tonight’s Dynamite.

Fightful also notes that some of Mone’s moves were being practiced by someone else this afternoon, but the report points out that “plenty of people” are performing a running knee strike as of late. Alex Windsor is also reportedly practiced with Will Ospreay acting as a placeholder.

Back in March, Mercedes Mone said during an interview that she’d be “coming home to AEW” very soon.
