– WWE has officially “retired” the now-defunct Universal Championship, per a listing on WWE.com (h/t Fightful). The Universal Championship was previously merged with the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 when Roman Reigns beat then-reigning WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
Roman Reigns is currently listed as the final undisputed champion. In June 2023, Reigns was presented the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt after reaching 1,000 days as the Universal Champion. The old Universal Championship was then phased out of WWE programming. That same year, WWE introduced a new World Heavyweight Championship.
