Details on Why WWE Made Large Donations to Donald Trump’s Foundation

– The Washington Post has an article up, looking at donations made to Donald Trump’s Donald J. Trump Foundation. Of note, Vince and Linda McMahon gave a total of $5 million to it from 2007 to 2009. $4 million was donated in 2007, which was the year of WrestleMania 23 and the big angle he worked with Vince McMahon. The other $1 million was made is 2009, the year that Donald Trump “bought Monday Night Raw,” and then “sold it back” to Vince McMahon the next week.

It had been previously speculated that Trump’s pay for the events were in donation form. The Post also notes that WWE’s donations were the biggest made to the foundation, and that without the WWE’s donations, the Foundation would not have been able to make the contributions it made between 2007 and 2012.
