– According to Billi Bhatti and sportskeeda.com, John Cena is currently penciled in to face Jinder Mahal for the WWE title at Summerslam. Cena will return on the July 4th edition of Smackdown, where he will be placed into an altercation with Mahal.
This altercation will take place during a championship program between Mahal and another Superstar that will culminate at WWE Battleground. Word is that WWE may transition Mahal into a mini-feud with AJ Styles. This is why Shinsuke Nakamura has been transitioned into a feud with US Champion Kevin Owens. The site also adds that WWE may continue Mahal vs. Orton through Battleground, leaving Styles to face Baron Corbin.
