UPDATE: PWInsider has more on Jimmy Snuka being found not competent to stand trial on charges of third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the 1983 death of Nancy Argentino. As noted earlier, the judge in the case ruled that Snuka is not able to assist in his own defense on the charges due to dementia after hearing from both sides, as well as Snuka himself, in three previous hearings.

The proseuction in the case objected, saying that Snuka was acting which the judge said, with all due respect to Snuka, she didn’t believe him smart enough to pull off that kind of con. The judge denied a request from the prosecution to have Snuka taken into medical custody for a 60 day mental health evaluation. While Snuka is technically still out on bail, the judge ruled that he will be able to travel to Florida in order to stay with relatives.

The judge ordered that the gag order remains in place on the case and set a new hearing for December 2nd, where they will revisit the issue of Snuka’s competency. The site reports that this could be a regular pattern unless the prosecution decides to drop the charges.

ORIGINAL: Lehigh Valley, PA reporter Sarah Cassi has been covering the Jimmy Snuka competency trial, and posted the following on Twitter after the judge made her ruling today…

Jimmy Snuka was charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino.
