Patrick Cote Wants to Be Nick Diaz’s Return Opponent

Patrick Cote wants to be the man to welcome Nick Diaz back to active competition. Cote, who beat Ben Saunders at Fight Night 81, told UFC.com that he wants a top fifteen fighter and Diaz, who will be coming off his suspension in August, is first on his list.

“I’m 35 years old, so I’m not getting younger,” Cote said. “I want to move up the rankings as soon as possible, and with two good performances, I want a top-15 (opponent) – or there’s a guy coming back in August, and it’s Nick Diaz.”

He added, “If he wants an opponent in August, it’s good. I’m going to enjoy my free time and be ready for this guy.”
