Cody East is Ready to Show His Place in the UFC Heavyweight Division

Cody East spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Walt Harris at UFC 197 and more. Some excerpts are below:

On earning his UFC berth with a win at Legacy FC 51 while Dana White was filming Lookin’ for a Fight: “I had heard Dana was probably going to go out there…I fight every fight like I’m being watched. Every fight matters the same to me. I just went out there and performed and did what I do, and it got me the contract.”

On the heavyweight division: “I’m one of the younger guys in the division. I feel like if the UFC wants me to come in here and clean up the trash, I’ll do that. If they want to move me up right away and fight these top guys, I’m ready for that, too. I’m just here to show my place in the division and eventually one day take over.
