Darren Stewart “Disappointed” With Fight Night 100 No-Contest, Suggests Bias in Brazilian Commission
Darren Stewart is none too please about having his win overturned following UFC Fight Night 100. Stewart won the bout over Francimar Barroso but had it turned into a no-contest when Barroso appealed to CABMMA, who overturned the result and ruled it a no-contest due to a headbutt. Stewart posted to Instagram and said that the situation “stinks,” and that if it had been reversed “it would be overturned because I’m not from Brazil.”
The Instagram post is not sharable, but the full text of it is below:
“To say I’m disappionted is an understatement. I travelled to Brazil missed my sons 2nd birthday missed a holiday I paid for with my fiance & son to show up and compete in Brazil. The entire situation stinks I put a lot of time and money into this fight won the fight and his mates at the Brazilian MMA commission overturned the decision. Fighting a Brazilian in Brazil is something that every fighter should think very strongly about had I lost and made an appeal to the Brazil commission I doubt it would be overturned because I’m not from Brazil. Let’s get the rematch on for London March 18th if they refuse the rematch it just stinks more.”
