– WWE has filed for a new trademark for The Rock. The trademark is for clothing purposes and was filed on August 18th.
– In other trademark news, Ricky Steamboat filed for a trademark for his name back on May 23rd. The trademark was assigned to an examiner on Tuesday. He had previous trademarks for the name which have all expired or been abandoned.
Interestingly, Roy Farris — The Honky Tonk Man — filed to trademark Steamboat’s name back in July of 2010. The trademark attempt was abandoned as of April 27th, 2011 after an initial refusal was given in October of 2010. The denial was based on the fact that it was the name of a living person and that Steamboat had not given his consent for the trademark.
