Impact Wrestling No Longer Using GFW Name
As we noted earlier today, Impact Wrestling issued a press release on the location for Bound for Glory, which was mysteriously missing the GFW name. PWInsider reports that Anthem Media has dropped the Global Force Wrestling name and is referring to the company yet again as Impact Wrestling. The company has yet to officially comment.
It was reported earlier this month that Jeff Jarrett was taking a leave of absence from the promotion and Anthem may not own the GFW name. This was because the “merger” between the two promotions hadn’t actually finished. It’s possible the GFW name will soon be gone completely. It may be a separate name that Jeff Jarrett could use to run GFW events on his own. Anthem has been running One Night Only PPVs with the GFW Amped! TV footage that was filmed but unaired before Jarrett returned. It’s unknown if this footage will still be used, but there were two PPVs that had yet to air.
