World War Z 2 Begins Production Next Year, David Fincher Directing

David Fincher is still on the zombie train, as he is still set to direct World War Z 2 with production kicking off next year. Producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner told Variety that Fincher is still on board to help the sequel to Marc Forster’s 2013 blockbuster, with Brad Pitt reprising his role as Gerry Lane. The film will begin filming in June of 2019 from a script by Dennis Kelly.

The first film, adapted from Max Brooks’ novel, followed United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
