Top Gun: Maverick Release Date Moved Up
Variety reports that the release date for Top Gun: Maverick has been moved up from June 26th to June 24th, allowing the film to open on a Wednesday and giving it a bit of a head start against In The Heights which opens on June 26th and is expected to do very well.
The movie is a sequel to the 1980s hit, Top Gun, and will feature Tom Cruise reprising his role as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Miles Teller plays the son of original cast member Anthony Edwards’ Goose. Other cast members include Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and the return of Val Kilmer. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and is written by Ehren Kruger (Transformers), Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle), and Christopher McQuarrie (Mission: Impossible).
