Legendary Reveals Title of Godzilla vs. Kong Sequel

The upcoming sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong has an official title, as revealed by Legendary Pictures. The studio released a video on Wednesday announcing that Adam Wingard’s sequel to the 2021 kaiju blockbuster will be titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. You can see the announcement video below.

The film is the fifth in the Legendary Monsterverse and is set to release on March 15th, 2024. Wingard is back to direct from a script by Simon Barrett. It is described as follows:

This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. Godzilla vs. Kong released in March of 2021 as theaters were just starting to come back from the pandemic lockdown and grossed $468 million against a $155 million budget.
