Denzel Washington Says Ryan Coogler Is Writing Role for Him in Black Panther 3

Denzel Washington says he will be in the third Black Panther film. Washington recently spoke with the Today show on Australia’s Channel 9 while promoting Gladiator II and noted that Ryan Coogler is writing a role for him in the MCU threequel.

Washington was asked about his future goals and said (per THR, “At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best, I don’t know how many more films I will make, probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven’t done. I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal (the general). After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.”

Marvel Studios has not yet officially confirmed a third Black Panther film. The most recent, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, released in November of 2022 and grossed $859.2 million against a $200 million budget.
