Brian Cage Says He Needs Another Surgery Due To Complications In Knee

Brian Cage revealed that he suffered a setback in his injury recovery and will need to undergo another surgery. The AEW star underwent surgeries on both his knees this year. Cage has been working toward a return, but he posted to his Instagram account on Tuesday with a video noting that there were complications with his right knee surgery.
In the video, Cage notes that he has an update and is often asked when he’s coming back. He recapped his injury situation and how he wanted to get his lingering right knee issues fixed while he was already out. He noted that he was looking into nano knee replacement did his due diligence before deciding to go ahead with it.
Cage noted that he was doing everything he could to get back, and that he was hoping to come back at AEW Full Gear. However, he found out the week of WrestleDream that he had an issue with his right knee. His knee has an implant that may not have grown into the bone. Cage added that it could be a smaller issue as well; however, they have to cut into the knee and figure out what’s wrong and fix it.
Cage noted that the issue is “beyond devastating” and he doesn’t know what the silver lining is. He is undergoing the surgery next week. He captioned the video:
“I busted my ass and have done everything imaginable to come back as quick and as healthy as possible.
“That being said I have some news. News that nobody would want to hear. There is an issue on the operation I had on my right knee. I was fighting an uphill battle that no amount of therapy, modalities, stem cells, peptides, etc we’re going to fix. I have to go back under the knife for them to try to fix or correct the situation.
“Being upset and depressed upon hearing this news is beyond an understatement. It’s maybe question a lot and bring a bond a bunch of doubt. I hate having this what was me mindset, and hopefully when they get in there it’s best case scenario. And even if it’s worst case, once we get this fixed and back on track I’ll pick up the pieces I’ll rebuild and become a better version of “the machine” once again.
