WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event To Feature NXT vs. Main Roster Matches

Next month’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will feature exhibition matches between NXT and the main roster. John Cena announced on Monday night’s episode of Raw that the December 13th show will main roster stars issuing open challenges to NXT.

Cena announced to open Monday night’s show that the special will highlight the future of WWE by giving NXT stars the same chance he had when he began. Cena famously debuted by stepping up to Kurt Angle in 2002. You can see a clip from tonight’s opening segment with Cena’s announcement below.

Cena did not announce any specific competitors for the matches. He will have his retirement match at the show, with competitors battling in the Last Time Is Now tournament for a chance to be his opponent. The show takes place from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC and airs on Peacock.
