Ricochet overcame a defiant Jack Perry to retain the AEW World Championship on tonight’s Dynamite: New Year’s Smash, thanks to help from The Demand.

The closing moments of the match saw Jungle Boy ascend to the top rope before Bishop Kaun tried to trip him. Perry fought him off and proceeded to land a diving Tornado DDT on Ricochet.

Perry then signaled for the Sacrifice Knee, only to be tripped by Kaun as Ricochet distracted the match official. This allowed The Demand leader to hit the Spirit Gun and pin the challenger to retain the AEW National Title.

The Demand wasn’t done, though, as Toa Liona, who brawled with Luchasaurus backstage during the bout, carried the latter back out to the stage and repeatedly slammed a barricade on his arm. He placed it on Luchasaurus’ arm, and then Kaun proceeded to deliver a number of chair shots to it. Amid all this, Ricochet hit another Spirit Gun on Perry.

The trio then took out security officials, slamming one of them onto the railing and Luchasaurus’ arm.
