Update On Rey Mysterio’s Injury Following Worrying Events On WWE RAW

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio had fans worried last night on RAW when he started clutching his arm during the closing stages of his match against The Vision’s Austin Theory. The referee threw up the dreaded ‘X’ symbol, seeking assistance from medical professionals, as Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul continued to beat down Mysterio’s allies, Penta and Dragon Lee.
Rey didn’t take part in the post-match angle, with Penta facing the brunt of a super Spear from Breakker that the veteran was initially set up for. It was later reported that Rey was helped to the back by medical professionals, leaving fans worried about his status for the upcoming Royal Rumble.
However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Rey’s injury isn’t believed to be serious, and while specific medical details aren’t yet available, the 51-year-old is still on track to compete in the upcoming Men’s Royal Rumble Match. The namesake premium live event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this Saturday, and Rey has already announced himself for the 30-man Battle Royale.
The latest update comes as a relief for Mysterio’s fans, considering that the legendary luchador has been marred with injuries in recent times. He was sidelined for over six months due to a torn groin and only returned to action this past November.
