There has been a lot of speculation about the status of AEW star Big Bill amid recent reports that his contract with the company is coming up and he is on his way to WWE to reunite with Enzo Amore.

Earlier this week, Fightful Select reported that Big Bill, whose deal is set to expire in the coming week, has given his notice to AEW.

Dave Meltzer confirmed the same in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON). Meltzer also touched upon AEW not using him much since the disbanding of The Learning Tree stable.

Meltzer downplayed the suggestions that the Learning Tree storyline hurt Bill’s momentum, arguing that he was never more popular in AEW than during that act. He claimed that the company was building toward his turn and a feud with Chris Jericho, but it never materialized. The faction was disbanded after Jericho went on a 12-month hiatus in April 2025.

On the potential reunion of Big Cass and Enzo Amore in WWE after eight years, Meltzer sounded confident about the duo once again getting over with the WWE Universe owing to Enzo’s promo game and Cass’ improved in-ring ability.

Bill has been primarily wrestling in Ring of Honor in recent months. His most recent outing on AEW TV was during the February 4, 2026, episode of Collision, where he participated in an eight-man tag team parking lot fight.
