Clay Guida Currently Training at Team Alpha Male, Hopes to Line Up His Next Fight for February or March 2017
MMAjunkie recently spoke to longtime UFC veteran and fighter Clay Guida, who revealed that he’s currently training at the elite Team Alpha Male camp and prepping for a big return next year. Guida is coming off two back-to-back losses at featherweight, losing to Thiago Tavares and Brian Ortega. It appears he’s found a change of scenery and looks to get back on a winning streak. Below are some highlights.
Guida on his recent slump: “Time to get back on the winning streak. I didn’t win last year. I had a rough one. Time to get back in the win column. We’re going to see the ‘Old Man’ Guida get back in there. We’re going to see ‘The Carpener’ – ‘The Dude,’ ‘The Caveman’ – get in there and start throwing these (fists).”
Guida on training with Team Alpha Male: “It was a great summer. It was a great fall. Put that to rest, and now it’s back to training camp. Nothing’s scheduled yet. It’s just great to be back here with the team. It’s great to be in Northern California, and I’m really pumped to be here in a team atmosphere. I’m super excited.”
Guida on when he wants to fight next: “Hopefully we can get something February or March, realistically. But they know, whenever that phone rings, whoever is on the other end of that contact is in trouble, so bring it on.”
