Dana White On Why Raphael Assuncao Hasn’t Had A Title Shot

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Dana White spoke about why Raphael Assuncao hasn’t had a title shot yet, even with an 11-1 record and a win at UFC 226. Here are highlights:

On Assuncao’s fight record: “The thing you have to remember about Assuncao – that’s easy to say: ‘Hey, this guy’s 11-1, why hasn’t he got this fight?’ That guy disappeared for a while. He had some injuries. He was gone for a while. Then he recently just came back and he’s starting to fight again.”

On if he’ll get one in the future: “That guy never loses. That is true. Who beat him? T.J.? (Assuncao is) a stud. Now that he’s gotten a little more consistency, we’ll see what happens.”
