Gilbert Burns Confirms May 30 Fight With Tyron Woodley
In a post on his Twitter account today, UFC welterweight fighter Gilbert Burns has confirmed his upcoming bout with former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. The fight is slated for May 30. However, the fight card and event still don’t have a venue or city lined up as of yet.
Gilbert Burns tweeted, “Bout agreement is signed! May 30th! Let’s go @ufc.”
Speaking after UFC on ESPN 8 on Saturday night, UFC President Dana White spoke about where the next UFC card would be held. The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada appears to be a possibility. However, if Nevada doesn’t pan out due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions, White said he would go to Arizona, which is apparently going to start allowing professional sports leagues this month.
Burns is entering his fight with Woodley on an impressive five-fight winning streak. His overall UFC record is 11-3. Woodley looks to bounce back after his March 2019 title loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235.
